Can I attend Spring Thaw if I am not a member of Northwest Bears?
YES - like most Northwest Bears events, Spring Thaw 2008 is open to non-members. Some Spring Thaw activities require registration (not club membership) while others are open to the public. Visit the Events Page for information on which events require registration. If you register for the Full Weekend Package includes it includes a 1 year membership in the Northwest Bears. Is Spring Thaw open only to bears?
NO. Spring Thaw is open to anyone 21 years old or older who wishes to attend and have some fun. Spring Thaw events are social gatherings designed for bears, their friends and admirers. For the purposes of this event, bears are generally husky hirsute gay or bisexual men. Back to top of page

Why does the registration fee go up after February 28th?
The "Early Bear" fee is intended to encourage attendees to register early, allowing us to plan more effectively as many arrangements need to be made well in advance. Back to top of page 

If I am not registered can I participate?
YES. Some events are open to people who are not registered. However, there are several events that require either Full Weekend Package or A La Carte registration. See the Events page for information on which events require registration.  Back to top of page

Do I have to stay in the host hotel?
NO. However staying at the Host Hotel is very convenient as several events are held there including the Saturday Night Banquet / Contest and the Sunday Farewell Brunch. The event shuttles only serve event sites and the Host Hotel. Additionally we have negotiated a low Spring Thaw room rate at the hotel. Back to top of page

Are people willing to host out of town guests in their homes?
Club members are often willing to host out of town guests, but the club does not coordinate or facilitate these types of accommodations for legal reasons. Back to top of page
